Hey y'all!
You're here for the Sales Nav pipeline generation tip when traveling.
Let's get straight to it…
COMMI$H’$ 5 $TAR TIP:
I am flying to Sweden next week to speak at SaaSiest.
Here is exactly how I am preparing to maximize this trip:
Step 1: The pre-trip Sales Nav search
Whenever I go to a city, I do this search in Sales Nav every single time:
Geography (set to Stockholm/Malmö)
Target job titles
Seniority level (Director and above)
Active on LinkedIn in the last 30 days
Step 2: Strategic connection requests
I've sent connection requests to everyone I'd like to talk to at the event and to the ones that might not even attend SaaSiest.
The foundation of message focuses on this:
"I'll be in Stockholm next week speaking at SaaSiest. Would love to connect while I'm in town."
These are all videos so I obviously add some aura and style to it but you get the vibe.
Step 3: Video follow-up
Once they accept my connection, like I said I send a personalized video to:
Thank them for connecting
Mention I'm coming to their city
Suggest a specific time to meet up
Keep it within the 35-45 second range.
Step 4: On-site tracking
I create a dedicated lead list for this trip to track:
Who accepted my connection
Who responded to videos
Who scheduled meetings
Post-event follow-ups
Every rep and business owner should be doing this for every business trip.
Legit… you are throwing money out the window by NOT doing this.
Every sales leader should make their team execute exactly this play when they have events.
Zero excuse not to build pipeline if you're hopping on a plane.
Anyways….. Sweden I am ready for you.
It's going to be lit as the kids say.
CHEAT CODE$:
This is a fun one for y'all.
My new AI prompt for outbound LinkedIn messages that is getting me responses.
"You are an expert LinkedIn sales messaging strategist with 20+ years of experience crafting messages that generate high response rates from C-suite executives.
Analyze these LinkedIn messages to my target prospects that have gotten positive responses: [INSERT YOUR MESSAGES THAT GOT RESPONSES]
Create [NUMBER] response templates that:
Mirror their communication style while maintaining my authentic voice
Are under 300 characters (not words) to ensure readability
Contain 2-5 concise sentences at a 3rd-4th grade reading level
End with exactly one of these questions:
"How does that compare to what you do today?"
"How are you currently doing this internally?"
Essential elements to include:
Reference a specific detail from their message
Insert a personalization placeholder showing I've researched them
Mention one clear customer result with a specific metric
Focus on solving ONE specific problem they likely face
Writing requirements:
No generic openings like "Hope all is well"
Use simple, direct language a 9-year-old would understand
Limit each sentence to 15 words maximum
Create curiosity without being vague
After providing the templates, suggest 3 specific variables I could A/B test to improve response rates, with concrete examples of each variation."
I made this prompt 2 weeks ago. So far five great meetings from it. Then I took it to the next level by taking the messaging to create videos.
Massive game changer and I do this in Claude so the writing sounds human.
The goal here is to find great messages already so AI knows what great looks like.
For a reasonable sample size put 5-10 messages that have already gotten responses.
Then, use what AI gave you to get you 80% of the way there and then add your 20% flair to it.
Great inputs lead to great outputs.
P.S. Want to see this in action? Reply “Claude” and I will send the video.
THE JOURNEY:
I'm back on the international road next week. So gotta find where the heck my passport is after Toronto but I'm going to one of my new favorite places, Sweden.
I'm going to there to do the keynote on Leveraging LinkedIn: 5 Simple Steps For Creating The Ultimate Lead Generator.
I've already done this keynote at B2B Max, but I only 20 minutes to deliver it this time. Plus, I haven't spoken to a European audience on this topic so I'm excited to get their feedback and for a new challenge.
And we all know I love a new challenge….
Anyways I am doing my normal prep that helps me ace these talks.
I start my prep with my favorite question to always ask the host of the event
"How can I deliver the best talk possible?"
I want to cook everyone. Unlike everyone else I want to keep it 100 with y'all.
I want to be the best person on that stage at the event.
I respect everyone, but I respect myself enough to want to be the best.
That mindset pushes me to prepare and deliver the best value to the audience.
I've texted a couple of European leaders I know to review my talk track and give me their perspective to make sure I am on point, Nothing crazy just a quick
"Hey, can you just look over this for me? Is this right?"
That's the next-level dedication to your craft that I always recommend.
Like I told you, I'm on a journey right now of what actually gets me excited to dive deeper.
Surface level energy makes me sick.
Right now, I want to get so deep with Sales Navigator, LinkedIn outbound, and content that it becomes my natural flow.
It's very synonymous to how Kobe thought about basketball. It's the way that I think about LinkedIn and the future of pipeline generation and development. That's the level of dedication to the craft that I have right now. That's why I'm looking to nail this talk.
I feel blessed to be able to do these things. When I started my career, I didn't think that I would be asked to speak in Sweden in front of 700 sales leaders. From making videos in my car to audiences like this still gives me chills.
So if anyone's been to Malmö, Sweden and you have suggestions.
I'm open to it!
